Top Value Defenders

#3 - Nathan Aké

Part 3 of our TVDs who will cost you no more than £5million clams.

In Part 3 we feature another value Bournemouth defender and that is the fantastically haired Nathan Aké. Aké was a real FPL surprise package last year for a short period of time. During his loan spell with the cherries which lasted until January, he made quite the impact both at the back and in an attacking sense.

The dreadlocked defender managed 3 goals and 1 assist in his time with the cherries before being sent back to Chelsea presumably to cook the spaghetti in the canteen or find John Terry tinder dates. After a reasonably good season Eddie Howe will be looking for consistency and continuity so its fully expected Aké will be a regular in the Bournemouth backline. This is the same backline that will now have the solid Asmir Begović between the sticks offering a greater chance of clean sheets. Favourable home trips games against Watford and Brighton in the opening 5 further his appeal.

A look at his numbers last year shows he made quite the impact despite only making 12 Premier League appearances. With all signs pointing to the fact he will be a regular in the Bournemouth backline if he can build on his 2016/2017 performances he could prove to be a very shrewd asset at £5 million.
